Customer T-Bones and Turbos: From Military Service to a Home Gym Legacy

For him, fitness was never just about training. It started in the US Air Force. It became a family tradition. Now, it’s part of who he is — every single day.

How did fitness become part of your life? What positive changes?

Fitness just became a way of life during my 20-year enlistment in the US Air Force. It was the thing that brought us all together at work and really helped me build confidence and strong relationships with my fellow Airmen.

I later added fitness as a family event where we would walk, play, and later, as my kids got older, lift weights. It's just a way of life now, almost like a family member that I need to see every single day.

Why did you decide to build a home gym?

COVID was a real eye-opener as to how important mental and physical fitness was to me and my family.

I decided then to build my first gym (approximately 370sqft) and later on, added the new space (approximately 700sqft), built by a tough shed in my backyard.

How has your experience been using the equipment? Do you have a favorite?

I love and use them all each and every week. For the price point, quality is great, exceeding my expectations from day one.

My favorite is the Belt Squat BS01 because it is so dynamic. I now have seven different ways to use it, training everything from legs, bi/tri, back, shoulders, and chest. Literally, a full body can be done with the belt squat.

What advice would you give to someone planning to build a home gym?

I would suggest that anyone looking to do a home gym to really sit and think about goals and consider the space you have to build the gym so that you can maximize the efforts.

Any final thoughts you'd like to share?

Overall, I am very happy with the products and the ability of GMWD to bring commercial-style equipment to the point, weight, and size that allows people to realistically be able to afford the products and use them in a way to change their lives positively.
