Machine That Fits My Training Goals
The PS01 Pendulum Squat has been a terrific addition to my home gym.
It works extremely well as a supplementary movement targeting quad development on my lower body days. The back pad takes the stress off of the lower back and instead focuses directly on quad development. This is particularly helpful as an accessory movement to isolate the quads after performing a full-body compound movement like squats or deadlifts.
Designed for Real Range of Motion
The machine also allows all body types to hit proper depth.
I can really feel the stretch in the deep part of the lift. Typically, I've been performing 3–4 sets of 10–15 after barbell squats in order to further target my quads.
Strength Meets Sensitivity
Given the difficulty of the movement, I haven't found a need to load the machine beyond two 45s on each side.
Adjustable for Every Body
Personally I haven’t used the springs, but I can see how they would assist folks getting out of the bottom of the position, which is the most difficult part of the lift.
Both myself at 5'10" and my wife at 5'4" find the machine accommodating to our heights. The machine is extremely adjustable with multiple safety stopper heights and footplate levels.
Overall I’d highly recommend this machine to folks who may have difficulty reaching depth on traditional barbell squats or those who are looking to add a different accessory movement into their training to target their quads.
