We recently sat down with a dedicated fitness enthusiast and community leader who has seamlessly woven fitness into both his career as a firefighter and his personal life. With a history of athleticism, a passion for community, and a love for GMWD Fitness products, he offers inspiring insights into building strength, resilience, and a supportive fitness environment.
1. How did fitness become part of your life? Any positive changes?
"Fitness became a huge part of my life early on. Growing up, I played baseball and basketball, but when I started taking basketball seriously, it changed everything. I attended camps, clinics, and even played AAU basketball on top of high school games. The more success I had, the more I needed to train — to get stronger, faster, and more explosive. Fitness played a massive role in helping me continue with basketball through college, where I ended up majoring in Athletic Training. It’s been a positive influence in every area of my life."
2. What is your daily or weekly fitness plan as a firefighter?
"My weekly routine includes working out between three to five times a week. With my schedule at the fire department, I’m there twice a week, and I aim to squeeze in a workout on every shift. I usually do lower body days at JET, my gym, and upper body workouts at the fire department. Beyond that, I play in two basketball leagues each week to stay active."
3. Why did you decide to build a community gym?
"I wanted to create a safe, enjoyable place for my clients to train. After working in several gyms, I took what I loved about those environments and learned from the negatives to create something unique. JET is more than a gym; it’s a family experience that combines safety, fun, and a sense of belonging for everyone who walks through the doors."
4. What’s your current goal for yourself or your gym?
"Personally, I’m focused on continuing my fitness journey. At 38, I’ve never felt better, and it’s important for me to stay in top shape — both for my role at the fire department and as a gym owner at JET. I also love basketball, so my ultimate goal is to keep playing as long as possible, proving that age really is just a number!"
5. What GMWD Fitness products do you currently have?
"I have the GMWD stair climber and the incline chest press."
6. How has your experience been with GMWD products?
"We love both products! The stair climber is a staple in most of our training sessions, offering great cardio and endurance benefits. Personally, I’ve been using the incline chest press and appreciate the flexibility it provides with adjustable angles and grips. It’s been a hit with my trainees and myself."
7. What’s the next GMWD product on your wishlist?
"I’m looking to add the abductor/adductor machine next. My female clients, in particular, have been asking for it, so it’s definitely on my list!"

"I’m looking forward to a strong partnership with GMWD! I’d even be happy to display your banner in my gym."
